Vania Purpero, PT, DPT

Doctor of Physical Therapy | Dance Medicine Specialist

Vania Purpero
Vania is a recent transplant to Ohio from Dallas, Texas. She completed all of her education in Texas; receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from The University of Texas in Austin and her Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from The University of North Texas Health Science Center.

Vania has a special interest in treating dancers, ballerinas, and performing artists due to her own experience with numerous injuries throughout her own dance career. She danced professionally for 1 year prior to attending college, and then danced on the University of Texas Dance Team. She specializes in dance medicine and performing arts medicine; which entails pre-habilitation, screening for injuries before they occur, rehabilitating dance-related injuries, and teaching “healthy dancing master classes” at local dance studios. She has treated professional ballerinas at Ballet Austin and Texas Ballet Theatre in order to keep the dancers healthy for a long career. She also has a passion for treating orthopedic injuries and sports-related injuries.

In her free time, Vania enjoys spending time with her husband hiking, biking, and skiing. They are also involved in outreach programs in their community and mentor high school students.
