Alissa Dennie, MS, OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
Alissa grew up in Loudonville, Ohio. Joining the local swim team at age 8, she competed year-round through high school with a focus on freestyle and backstroke, and then had the privilege of serving the next few summers as a coach.
Alissa attended Ohio Northern University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She felt her calling for a career was to figure out how to use her passion and interest in biology to help others. Thus, she decided to pursue becoming an occupational therapist, where she graduated from one of the top ranked OT programs in the nation at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia in 2013.
Alissa has gained experience in a wide scope of settings in OT so far in her career, moving to Dayton for her first job in pediatrics, and has since gained experience in acute care, working with people with disabilities, and hand therapy. While her extracurricular activities in college shifted to music, she returned to her interest in fitness and completed two triathlons and has been passionate about CrossFit since 2015.
Alissa happened upon MobilityFit initially to receive therapy for herself as a CrossFit athlete. She is excited to be bringing a new perspective to the clinic as an OT and to provide hand therapy in the unique setting that MobilityFit has to offer! Alissa also works as a CrossFit Coach at Bombers CrossFit. Alissa is recently married and spends her free time working on her new house with her husband, Matt, or working out at Bombers Crossfit. She also loves to travel and hike mountains with her parents and siblings.
